Christopher Grundy draws on over 20 years of experience as a singer and teacher. He holds Doctor of Music and Master of Music degrees in vocal performance from Indiana University, where he was an Associate Instructor of Voice and Graduate Opera Workshop at the prestigious Jacobs School of Music. He received his B.A. from Yale University, where he was Assistant Conductor of both the Yale Glee Club and the Yale Russian Chorus.

 Christopher’s students come from a wide variety of musical backgrounds, including opera, musical theater, jazz, folk, and choral singing. Some are professional singers, some are students preparing for auditions at colleges and conservatories, and others are amateurs simply looking to sing with ease and confidence.

Christopher has regularly appeared as an operatic bass-baritone with orchestras and festivals throughout North America and Europe. Christopher’s love for teaching has been an integral part of all his pursuits, and has given him the opportunity to work with students of diverse backgrounds and ages. As an undergraduate at Yale University, he was a tutor for the Yale Department of Germanic Languages & Literatures, teaching conversational German; for the Yale School of Engineering & Applied Sciences, for undergraduate courses in Mechanical Engineering. He is an experienced helicopter pilot and flight instructor, and has taught at flight schools in New York, Colorado and San Diego.

Christopher lives in Stamford, Connecticut. He is involved with education and the local community, and teaches on the Performing Arts Faculty of Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT, is the Director of Music at the New Haven Unitarian Society, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.
